Sithulpawwa Rajamaha Viharaya is one of the most significant Buddhist temples dating over 2,200 years. It contains a large number of stupas, cave temples, Buddha statues and image houses spread across a large area of land. Among these there is a cave temple with ancient paintings thought to belong to the 3rd century BC.
